I am a food lover, mother of two children, a passionate home cook and a Brisbane -based, Accredited Practicing Dietitian. I take great pleasure in food and travel adventures, finding new recipes and sharing a meal with my friends and family. I believe in the power of food to nourish the mind, the body and the soul.
Before coming to private practice, I have worked as a Dietitian in a range of settings including corporate health, hospitals and aged care. From these experiences I have come to appreciate that most people know what foods we should eat to be healthy but our diet and weight focused culture can lead us astray with messages and rules about body image and how we should eat.
I am a Non-Diet Dietitian, (a Dietitian who doesn’t believe in prescriptive or restrictive diets) and I believe our relationship with food and what we eat is more than just nutrients and digestion. I work with my clients, both children and adults, to improve their health and eating practices without a focus on diets, weight loss or body size. It is only by trusting our bodies and mindfully turning towards our internal cues for eating that we can find a way of eating that is satisfying, enjoyable and sustainable.
I have completed specialised training to offer current expertise in the areas of infant feeding and paediatrics, fussy eating, breastfeeding, women’s health (including PCOS), fertility and Non-Diet Nutrition.
In my own time, I am a volunteer Breastfeeding Counsellor with the Australian Breastfeeding Association and I have first hand experience in the trials and tribulations of feeding a young family (fussy eaters included).
I can help you identify and manage any troublesome foods, eat intuitively, and without judgement, and find joy and peace in feeding yourself and the people you care for.
